Licences and rights of use
Licences: Using motifs by Joe Muczka jr.
On your vehicle, your façade, your products. With licence 1, 2 or 3.
A motif by Joe Muczka jr. turns a delivery van, a trade fair stand or a package into a piece of his visual language. The permission to do so is a licence. It comes in three levels, depending on how and how often you use the motif.
Licences are granted only by JTP Active Invest AG. Each one is issued in writing, and every use carries the credit “by Joe Muczka jr.”.
Principle
Anyone who uses a motif needs a licence
The artist remains the author and the holder of the copyright. All transferable rights to his work have rested with JTP Active Invest AG since 3 October 2025, together with an exclusive, worldwide and unlimited right of use and licensing. That is why only JTP grants licences.
Owning an original is not a licence. Anyone who buys a work may hang it, lend it and sell it again. But as soon as the motif is transferred to something else, a licence is needed: onto printed matter and products, into advertising, into the corporate image and also privately onto your own objects, for example when you have your vehicle wrapped.
Souvenir photos are free: in the studio, at the vernissage or of your own work at home.

For all licences
What always applies
- Credit: Every use carries the credit “by Joe Muczka jr.” or the JMJ-Art logo. JTP supplies both, as a vector file and as an image file.
- No transfer: A licence may be transferred to third parties only with the written consent of JTP, including when a company is sold.
- Get in touch before the limit: Anyone who wants to produce more than 100 items of a product under licence 1 contacts us beforehand. For a small additional run the licence can be topped up; for larger runs we find a suitable solution, up to licence 2 or licence 3. We decide this with you case by case.
- Without the credit or beyond the agreed scope, the licensee owes double the licence fee; JTP may terminate the licence.
The General Terms and Conditions, part A, section 5, are authoritative.
Existing licences
Did you previously acquire a licence from the artist or from JMJ-Art s.r.o.?
Licences acquired directly from the artist or from JMJ-Art s.r.o. before 3 October 2025 remain valid until they expire. Show JTP the evidence: contract, invoice or written confirmation. The licence is taken over and runs on the original terms until it ends. After that, licence 1, 2 or 3 applies.
Corporate artworks that a company commissioned and paid for from the artist or from a former agency carry their use with them. This use remains in place, under the rules of licence 2 for the corporate artwork. For a confirmation, a short message to info@jtpai.vip is enough.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Questions about licences
Who grants licences for motifs by Joe Muczka jr.?
Only JTP Active Invest AG. The artist remains the author and the holder of the copyright; all transferable rights to his work have rested with JTP since 3 October 2025, together with an exclusive, worldwide and unlimited right of use and licensing.
Do I need a licence if I have bought an original?
Yes, as soon as you want to use the motif. With the purchase the work belongs to you; acquiring a work does not include a licence. Souvenir photos are free.
Do I also need a licence for private use?
Yes, if the motif is transferred to an object, for example if you have your own vehicle wrapped with the motif. Souvenir photos are free.
What does licence 1 cost?
CHF 1'750 excl. VAT for one motif and one year. It includes use in your own communication without size restriction and articles for sale or giveaway up to 100 items per product.
What is the difference between licence 1 and licence 2?
Licence 1 applies for one year to an existing motif. Licence 2 is the corporate artwork, in two variants: Variant A is a commissioned work created specifically for your company with your corporate identity and long-term, exclusive use of the motif, from CHF 25'000 excl. VAT. Variant B is the temporary use of an existing motif from the collection, from CHF 7'000 excl. VAT. The original work is handed over with the licence; the term depends on the licence amount, from one to five years.
When do I need licence 3?
For more than 100 items per product and year, for any industrial production and for any use on packaging and labels. Licence 3 is agreed individually: A base amount per motif and year, plus a share of the revenue you generate with the motif.
May I sell art prints of a motif?
Not with licence 1. Art prints and decorative prints for sale are excluded from licence 1 in any edition and are governed by licence 3.
Do I have to credit the artist?
Yes. Every use of a licensed motif carries the credit “by Joe Muczka jr.” or the JMJ-Art logo. JTP supplies both, as a vector file and as an image file.
I previously acquired a licence directly from the artist or from JMJ-Art s.r.o. Is it still valid?
Yes, until it expires. Show JTP the evidence; the licence is taken over and runs on the original terms until it ends.
May I pass a licence on?
Only with the written consent of JTP. This also applies when a company that uses a licensed motif is sold.
Who is entitled to offer motifs and works is set out on the page Artist, exclusive rights and location.
